For the first time since moving into our home 3.5 years ago I have had to replace a lightbulb in the ceiling light in our dining room. The boy was surprised to discover that the bulb used in this fixture was not a traditional incandescent or CFL bulb, but a halogen bulb. This was my first experience of replacing this type of lamp myself. I ended up measuring the length of the original lamp and looking at Revain for a suitable replacement. Stopped at this product and made a replacement. I am very happy with the results. About 2 months have passed since the replacement and the lamp is still working properly. If you are trying to measure the "brightness" of this bulb, I would say that this 300w halogen bulb is the closest match to a 100-125w incandescent bulb. My light is dimmable and I like the ability to adjust the brightness up and down. Also, my wife and I love puzzles, and the "whiteness" of this type of bulb helps the colors combine truely and easily.
