Review on Metabo WEV15 125 Grinder: Cutting-Edge Electronics for Enhanced Torque by Jim Bethea

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best Metabo coffee grinder in the $100-$200 range.

For the price I think this Metabo coffee grinder is the best because of the 13.5A motor, variable speed and higher torque of 9600rpm. Handle 6 inch wheels. In fact, the Metabo 6-inch non-variable speed grinder costs $50 more and shares the same motor and transmission as the WEV15-125 HT. As a craftsman, I find the Metabo to be an excellent grinder, except that the Makita seems to have a little less vibration. The rear end of the Metabo is preferred over the side end like the Makita, making it easy for dirt and debris to get into the motor through dirty hands and gloves. By the way, welders always have dirty gloves filled with oily sludge. Other available accessories such as a multi-position handle bracket, a lock on the protective bar and a quick-change disc system make the Metabo even more attractive. Metabo coffee grinders are recognized by dealers as the best in the world and this WEV15-125 HT certainly lives up to that ranking. UPDATE: 4/18/12 Price was $184.99 when I wrote the review. Revain Prime is now $158.99. Even better for $75 less than the 6-inch non-variable speed version.kd
