Suitable for Thinkpad W520/530/540; Almost no padding

Pro: Suitable for the Lenovo Thinkpad W520, W530, W540 portable workstations. Cons: Inadequate padding. The W520/30/40 is similar to other Thinkpads of the time but is thicker to accommodate the larger cooling system. Many cases advertised as compatible with 15.6" laptops are not compatible with this series. This one fits. The loose fit, which other buyers complain about, is an advantage. Padding is much worse (thin or none at all) than many cases that don't fit Memory foam bumper on top EVA lower down Neoprene on the bottom and heavier With so many gaps, damage is almost guaranteed. The foam is firm along the bottom, but the lower edges, the most sensitive areas, are completely omitted. The zippers are of course completely unprotected. My standard is that the case fits in a lightweight bag, such as a backpack. B. the nylon messenger from Targus, is designed to protect against falls from shoulder height. This one won't. I've actually found very few sleeves that do this. Even snazzy South Korean memory foam cases/bags deliberately leave out or provide minimal edge swirling. This is cynicism at its finest. You quit, you lose.

Pros
  • Seamless, high-impact foam padding provides top-to-bottom protection
Cons
  • Secret
