I am giving this 5 stars for removing dog urine odor. I always apply immediately, after I have used towels to soak up the majority of the liquid from the carpet. I then spray in the stain & odor remover, and agitate into the carpet fibers. I then use more towel to soak up, and repeat with the spray.I do not find it to be terribly successful for stains, perhaps because I have a cream carpet. I therefore also use a foaming carpet cleaner in combination with this product, to get rid of the stain. So after I apply the spray as above, I spray in a foaming pet stain carpet cleaner, and I use a hand held bristle brush to scrub the carpet clean.I continue to purchase this product for odor removal, because this takes out the smell completely. It has a faint smell of something mellow, maybe lemongrass? It's pleasant and not offensive or strong. And once dry, no smell at all. All the other products seem to smell strong or like orange. which is no good for me. I'm sensitive to chemical or strong smells. Sticking with what I know works!
