My 3 year old daughter is not afraid. She is less afraid. She'll literally kind of fall out of bed, bang her head on the dresser and get a huge bruise. Cry for 10 minutes and then do it again. Therefore, your safety is our top priority. You have no idea how many things in our home are now padded or protected for their safety. We used to have a different handle on our front door, so we needed a different type of security lock. However, we recently replaced the front door with an electronic lock and it had a different type of handle. This lock was easy to install. Just peel off the tape and stick it on the door. It has held up well to repeated use and I have had no problem with it not coming loose or with her taking it off. I will note that the release is a bit rough if you have very long nails. Other than that minor issue, this has worked great for us.
