Review on 🌬️ Black & Decker ICR07X Xpress Steam Cord Reel Iron - White/Red - Compact and Convenient by Jayme Newitt

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Multiple design flaws

Compared to other irons I've had, this is the worst. The temperature dial is conveniently located and the non-stick plate is good. I like cord wrap. This is normal when mending wrinkled clothing. However, for sewing or heavy use, a major upgrade is required. The filler neck has gaps and the water has to go in a roundabout way causing it to roll back and the water always spills out in large quantities no matter how slowly I fill it. The water level is almost impossible to see as the purple plastic is too dark to see even with the backlight on. The auto shut off is too fast (turns off in the time it takes to sew 2 short seams of the mask) and too slow to reheat. The steam comes out too far forward, making ironing the seam very painful, especially when trying to pinch the edge of the 1/4 inch piece. I would never let a kid learning to sew use it lest they burn their fingers. When steaming, the steam button must be pressed, a stable supply of steam is not possible.
