Just as we pre-ordered a replacement filler assembly for our Toto toilet, that's what this purchase is all about. If necessary, we needed an original spare part from the manufacturer for our toilet. This particular shut-off/flush lever design is used in a large number of Toto toilets, both one-piece and with separate cistern and bowl. Although we ordered this lever in anticipation of a replacement, we may need it sooner rather than later. As I've noticed in my experience with Toto toilets, this lever design seems odd and error prone. The design never seems reliable in how it works compared to other manufacturers' designs. There seems to be some "pull" play in the grip assembly before the lever actually applies stroke pressure to the damper valve. I could never understand why Toto felt the need to create that "counterplay" in the stretch when you push the lever down. The lever has some twist on the shaft that raises the tank internally, but this doesn't seem to be offset by the use of that extra "slack" in the crank action. It is important? Why am I taking the time to mention this? Well, my one-piece Toto toilet has the original shut-off lever (it's about 3.5 years old now) and still works, but the mechanism Toto used to create extra play in his movement before he actually pushed the lever triggered in the tank. A malfunction occurred when raising the damper. The plastic (ubiquitous in the design and assembly of parts from all manufacturers) in the handle assembly that allows the lever to rotate and then stop and rotate cracked and part of it just fell out. This didn't stop the lever from flushing the toilet, but it now allows for much more movement of the flush handle before the lever inside the cistern begins to lift the flush valve. This is exactly what I have seen in my previous experience with Toto toilets where the release lever had failed. How much longer will my current first shutoff lever work? Who knows? Because of this I have ordered a replacement (which appears to be an exact replica of my original. There doesn't seem to be an option to use a duplicate for Totos as they don't seem to have changed the design of this part in years, if at all, despite of the repeated failure of these levers and I have not seen any aftermarket replacements for these toilets. Is that a big deal? I think it depends on what you grew up with and what you have experienced. This Toto toilet replaced a toilet from a large American manufacturer. When we remodeled our bathroom a few years ago. The old toilet was made in 1974 and had its original shut off/flush lever which still works reliably when thrown into a garbage truck. Yes, Toto works fine, mostly The time it doesn't need a second rinse It saved a lot of water (important now in California) and still works with the parts, which Toto installed when it was new. But that shifter has never felt as lan is good, and the toto levers I've tested on every previous toto have been no better and they've all failed in a relatively short amount of time (especially compared to the toilets it replaces). to have). This lever arrived exactly as advertised, a real Toto replacement lever for our toilet. It's good? Honesty in advertising? Yes. correct part? Yes. price and delivery? That was normal and expected. General? I'm wondering how this lever would have been constructed if Toto had made it in 1974?
