This particular drawer insert has been in our household for over 20 years. Finally buying a new one, because the knives have finally rubbed a small hole in the material (from years of being thrown into the knife slot). We cut a long slot for dishes to fit snugly in our drawer. Even without this slot, the insert holds 10-12 pieces of cutlery (tea, soup, salad forks, standard forks and knives), 6 matching serving cutlery pieces, 8 steak knives, fish forks, butter knives, sugar spoons, Asian soup spoons AND corn on the cob, no problem! Everything is easy to find and organize. It is easy to clean and resize, the tray does not move in the drawer and the dishes do not knock. I'm not sure, but the utensil drawer in our house gets a daily workout, and it's nice to know things don't fly all the way through the drawer after they're hit. Definitely recommended for all lovers of kitchen cleanliness!
