Good DC current gain

These transistors were delivered on time and well packed. I measured the DC current gain on several and found it to be in the range of 260 -280. Certainly meeting spec.

Pros
  • I haven't used these yet, but they seem to be a good quality
Cons
  • Some users may find through hole mounting and the TO-92 package to be outdated and difficult to work with compared to SMD packages

Good all-purpose NPN signal transistor, but you should test the hFE (gain)

I needed matched pairs for a circuit and tested for hFE (gain) before using. Gain ranged from 207 to 260, with most hFE being in the 230's. Out of 20, I found 3 pair which matched and 2 others which would have been close enough.Inherent noise was low and the 2N2222A's were stable.
