I have tinkered and played with this in several ways and it always over waters. The first time I used it I figured my plant just really needed a lot if water. It's an office plant and I am not consistent, which is why i bought this. But then time after time it would empty out in a day, two at the most. My plant was yellowing, etc.I put 3 coffee stir straws in it to slow the flow while not impeding it completely. That helps. I'm planning to put another straw in the next time I am in my office (lots of work from home days with COVID regulations).I also pay attention to where i put it in the pot and make sure it's not ahead in a "hole" which then drains super fast.
