What a bummer. These boots are lightweight, very comfortable, and pretty cute. BUT they are NOT waterproof. I did a swim test before wearing them outside and they were waterproof down to the rubber part, but as soon as they hit the fabric (I bought two pairs, one nylon and one different colors of suede) they started leaking BAD . . This applies to both nylon and suede pairs. Because they are so comfortable and lightweight, I would recommend them for locations that only get 2-3 inches of snow. But if you live somewhere where you have snow feet (here you have that), then that's not a good idea. Since they were cheap I am considering leaving at least one pair as "fashion" boots to wear when the snow is mostly cleared or on days when we get a small amount. But I've never been able to wear them with snowshoes or after a big snowstorm ): Update: I put them on today when I thought the snow was packing. it wasn't, and I ended up running in knee-deep, wet snow for about 20 minutes. and my feet stayed dry and comfortable the whole time! very cool boots.
