I bought this turtleneck sweater for my 12 year old daughter who is very petite, about 54 inches tall and about 65 pounds. She still wears plus size clothes for little girls. So I chose size 12 (XL) to give her room to grow. I was surprised to see that I could easily wear it myself while wearing women (M). Needless to say, it looked like a dress on my daughter. I will be returning it and ordering a size or maybe two smaller because it is well made and the material feels very good and is great for layering. Update: My daughter loved the color and how comfortable it is so we kept it and she just ties it on and wears it like a tunic.
