Review for Plantar Fasciitis Sufferers

This shoe has a lot of great things going for it. I wore these at home for a couple of hours when they arrived and then wore them the next day at a theme park - lots of stairs, rides, rain, and puddles. I have not yet used these in a pool or on the beach, but I'm looking forward to using these shoes for those activities. They would be great for wearing on a rocky shore or in a lake or river. These shoes have few drawbacks for someone who is overweight or deals with foot issues, such as plantar fasciitis.Advantages: - Style and materials are fantastic for a water shoe. They are light and the construction and materials reduces water drag. - Water can drain from anywhere on the shoe - top, bottom, sides - Excellent traction, even on wet slick tile. No slipping at all on any wet surface! - Very little rubbing or irritation during the first full day of wear. - Extremely lightweight. Perfect for traveling! - Easy to slip on and off.Disadvantages: - Ordering the right size is a challenge. After reading all the reviews, I ordered my true size. If I were to order again, I would try a half size smaller. - Not enough arch support or cushion for someone who is overweight or has foot pain to walk around in all day. At the theme parks, I wore these with arch support sleeves which helped me get through a long day of climbing up and down stairs and walking across lots of concrete. I was comfortable for most of the day. However, the moment I walked through a puddle the sleeve got wet from water coming up through the bottom of the shoe and they and stayed wet all day. - After 12 hours of use, the top outside edge of the shoe was rubbing my foot. (They were comfortable for most of the day. Considering it was the first full day I wore the shoes, they performed admirably.) - The insole is rough. Actually, the entire shoe has a rough texture. It isn't bad for wearing for short periods of time without socks, but I would wear a thin sock of some kind for longer periods - NOT an ideal solution.Overall, I'm glad that I purchased these shoes. I would not run in them or climb a mountain in them, but they really weren't designed for those activities. They were a good value for the money and I'm looking forward to trying them at the lake and the beach.
