I installed it on a backup generator to track maintenance hours; Oil changes, valve adjustments, etc. My experience as a pilot has led me to really appreciate an accurate hour meter to track engine hours. The only thing that disappointed me about it is that it is completely covered in epoxy and when the battery dies the device dies along with its data. I just need to see what kind of life he has and keep an eye on it before the numbers go away. One of the advantages of the built-in device is that it appears to be fairly waterproof, which is a very good feature for any gear. Otherwise, for that much money, it would be foolish to start a small engine (and indeed any spark-ignition engine) without an accurate hour meter, which by the way is accurate.
