I'm replacing some old cords that have gotten a bit finicky/faulty and they have a nice, firm fit, nice rubberized finish that feels good and is nice to grip and I particularly like the spring loaded wire where it meets the hard plastic of the connector at both ends. This seems to be the weak point in most cables (including the ones I replace) and bending stress is often the cause of failure. Expenditure. That spring seems to hold things in alignment to keep them from snapping and it looks like it should be a stronger cord overall.
