Review on Epson'S 2022 Ultra LS800: 4K PRO-UHD, HDR, 150" Projection With Smart Streaming And Built-In Yamaha Speakers! by Kiko Fanandriansyah

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Impressive. Immersive.

After a Miami Dolphins loss, I threw my phone at my 85 inch Samsung and shattered the screen. So after I lied to my wife and said the damn thing broke on its own, it was time to get a new TV. I wanted to go bigger, but there’s nothing out there bigger than 85 that would not break the bank. I switched my attention to a UST Projector. Did extensive research and could not find any customer reviews on this unit, so I YouTube the only 3 reviews and I was convinced. This is my fist projector and I have nothing to compare it with. I set it up, hooked up everything and I am up and running and love the damn thing. The colors are increíble, it’s bright and easy to set up. Takes a little practice, but I got there and have mastered the calibration process. I am not using the Android TV option, so I use an Revain Fire Cube, and there are some issues to overcome when connecting a Samsung Bar with ARC to the projector and all the components, but eventually got it all to work. I can’t seem to find the Ethernet port, so I’m guessing there isn’t one. I am not using the Yamaha speakers on it, since I am using my Samsung soundbar. This thing is bright in lit rooms and immersive with lights off, on cinematic mode. It does look like a movie theater screen at home! Setting up the projector isn’t that big of a challenge. The most challenging part was setting up and hanging in he screen. I did notice that on the white wall, before installing a ALR screen (Gray) the projector was brighter….with Gray screen you will lose a little brightness, but it’s plenty bright and easy on the eye. I recommend this product.

Pros
  • 10-Bit HDR — Full 10-bit HDR color processing accepting 100% of the HDR source. When combined with the extreme brightness of 4,000 lumens – HDR content is faithfully reproduced for an exceptional visual performance.
Cons
  • Brightness: The Epson 2022 Ultra LS800's brightness may not be sufficient for use in bright rooms without heavy blinds or curtains
