5'4”; 135 pounds; Bought size L; on average i buy medium I bought these shorts a few years ago and sent them back as they were too tight and just uncomfortable. Recently I've been on the hunt for soft but "essential" (or durable) shorts again. I bought them in black and enlarged and soon bought another pair in light grey. I really like the shorts this time. They're soft, not too hot/thick, have nice big pockets, and are flattering. I like that they are strong enough so my phone doesn't dangle from my shorts when I have it in my pocket. I will probably buy another pair but hope these last a few years.
