Well good news - the bracelet is nice. I honestly have no idea if it's effective for pain, if it promotes positive thinking and promises that kind of attraction because I don't have arthritis. It was fine with me, I just wanted it to be nice. A few things to watch out for: A) Since it contains copper (note my phrasing here) it absolutely tarnishes and darkens over time. Moisture, including sweat, will speed up this process (and can even leave your skin a little green), while chlorine or salt water will instantly darken it. If you want to avoid this, keep it away from moisture. I haven't found any cover, on it or anywhere else, that would have successfully prevented this. I spent about 2 days taking everything apart, dipping every single link in the coating, letting it dry for an hour, then repeating the whole thing and putting it back together, only to have it fade after a few days in the shower and to turn completely grey. the next day afterwards in the pool. Copper just reacts to things, there is no other way to prevent it than to keep it away from things. B) THIS IS NOT REALLY HARD COPPER! Yes, sorry, ladies and gentlemen. Both with constant wearing of the bracelet and numerous attempts to clean, polish and protect the surface from tarnishing, part of the copper plating has worn away, revealing gray metallic stainless steel. The 99.9% copper they say (but remarkably never actually states!) the bracelet is made of is a damn lie. see attached photos of both ends on the bottom. Oddly enough, the "copper" label on the clasp shows the grayest metal. Apologies for the ugly looking green stains, they are from a previous failed attempt to seal what failed. So yes it is. In my opinion if you want pure copper, get a higher quality bracelet. If you like the color, go for rose gold plated stainless steel as it will not tarnish. If you just want magnets, stainless steel won't tarnish or leave your skin green either. I still love the bracelet but can't say enough good things about it other than it's cute.
