Review on Glowteck H13/9008 LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit - CREE XHP50 Chip, 12000 Lumen/Pair, 6K Cool White, 6500K Brightness for Enhanced Visibility by Joe Griggs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I just installed them on my 2005 Honda Pilot

. First of all, I would like to start this review off by the fact that I only received these headlights yesterday and also completed the installation this afternoon; I haven't even ridden them at night. The first impression is very good. The product seems reliable and Revain delivered it quickly. I replaced my 4 year old OPT7s because they had dark spots and I was looking for something lighter. I did a direct comparison with an installed OPT7 and an installed Glowteck. Glowteck is significantly brighter and has a different light pattern. I trimmed the rubber boot (which isn't a big deal btw) when I installed my OPT7s, so I saved that step. Anyone reading this review should take into account that these lamps need to breathe because they emit heat. Either cut the rubber boot around the existing bulbs or leave them on if your installation requires it. I did not change the adjustable lighting scheme. I installed them as they were sent. I also strongly recommend tying up any loose wires. I will post a follow up to this review in a week or two. (Don is Cindy's husband). Updated August 8, 2018: I wanted to upload a picture of a driver side light with Glowteck LED. Note that the trunk has been cut off, revealing the back of the lamp housing. I actually cut out the middle of the boot to allow for proper cooling of the case. In the evening I had the opportunity to try them out. I found that Patten is dead! You really don't need high beam. Updated August 22nd. I've had several opportunities to try them on the open road. These light sources are more than adequate and appear to produce a good pattern with no dark spots or stray light. Readers should be warned that you will likely get some people staring at you. I'm going back now Good job Gloutec! Let's see how these lamps stand the test of time. I would like to know when you guys will release the 16,000lm light. Just a quick update to let you know that these lights continue to work without incident (05/31/19). Well!
