I have 3 sets of salt and pepper grinders similar to this one. This is the most beautiful of them with a bronze plate. I use them with Himalayan salt in one grinder and pepper in another and they look really nice on our dining table and work well in the kitchen too. I have another set of large glass jars but I prefer the smaller size as it holds more than enough spices. The magnetic lid is a handy feature and I love seeing what and how much salt or pepper is in the grinder. The glass part can be cleaned in the dishwasher, while the grinder itself should most often be brushed or very carefully disassembled and hand washed and then air dried if necessary. They work well and look beautiful on the table or in the kitchen.
