I just made custom length bungee cords with snaps on the ends. I use hog rings and shrink tape to make a nice finish. These pliers are good at crushing the ring with one grip, but I like to switch positions a few times and make sure the ends of the ring aren't sticking out. These tongs also did a great job holding the ring. I barely notice the spring holding her on the pig ring, but it's enough to keep her from falling. Lubricate them with gun oil every five years, or every time they get caught in the rain, and they'll impress your great-grandchildren when they inherit them 100 years from now.
