This connector is a REAL HAZARD! After I connected my power supply to the motherboard via the eyeboot connector, the computer was dead. I checked the voltage on each pin of the 20-pin side of the power supply and they were all correct, so I opened up the middle connector box and installed found that the two wires were swapped (purple and black, see pics) so the motherboard got +12 B to the GND pin and vice versa! From my pictures it is easy to see that black is the usual color for GND and purple should carry +5V on the "IN" side and +12V on the "OUT" side. "EXIT" terminals are reversed. For users: Be careful and check that the voltages in the 8-pin connector are correct and within DELL specifications. Pay special attention to the black and purple wires. To the manufacturer: Carry out quality control before shipping! Such an error can be fatal for the motherboard!
