I have just purchased this toilet mat for my new 1 year old cat. I put the litter box on the puppy bed, but she kept trying to cover the box with the puppy, making a mess. A new carpet arrived a week ago. I was able to flatten it slightly with a hair dryer (it was rolled up) to heat it and then step on the twisted parts. It took about 10 minutes or less to smooth it out. Then I put it in front of the tray, just half of the tray on the mat. No more mess, no more fuss! The cat is too heavy to scratch the box and the excess dirt is left on its paws. I've tried other mats but either didn't hold onto my carpet or didn't catch properly. Fillers or had textures that cats didn't like. This rug not only met my expectations, it exceeded them. I will definitely recommend this mat to my cat loving friends.
