My first Chavan! fits Matcha Bowls

MYCHA Matcha Tea Set Japanese Tea Set Matcha Whisk Traditional Spoon Matcha Bowl Ceramic Whisk Holder Strainer Handmade Matcha Ceremony Set for Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony (White) Made in China I've been drinking matcha for a while, but until now I've always used a flat-bottomed bowl and kettle to prepare it. This is my first chavan and! I was excited to try it. When it arrived it was packed in a very gift box. So if you have a matcha enthusiast in your life this would make a lovely gift considering how it is packaged. I already had a chaser that I use, it's still fairly new so I haven't opened a mycha chaser yet. My chasen that I use initially frizzed like Mycha but has since loosened up a bit. As you can see in the picture the outer teeth have loosened up while the inner teeth are still a bit tight but they should straighten out over time. In the photo on the left is my Chasena that I used and the new one that hasn't flowered yet is on the right. To prepare matcha, I first pour water into the chawan to heat it. Then I put the chasen in to soak it so it's flexible when I'm going to use it. This takes less than a minute, then I pour out the water, dry the bowl and add the matcha to the bowl. I add chilled water to about 170F and beat until fluffy. Although I've been drinking matcha for a while, I've never really learned how to whip, so I'm still working on getting a full bowl. Is there. However, since this is for my personal everyday use, this basic set is just what I needed to make my daily morning cup of matcha easier to prepare.
