No lie as soon as I got this I immediately wanted to put it on for the cat. I have four cats. Three don't have claws and one doesn't. So we try to have a lot of things on hand for him to scratch so he doesn't scratch the furniture and stuff. I got this because it was small enough to fit in a certain part of my house, but it was still something you could scratch and put on. It was really easy to put together. It came in a compact box, all you had to do was screw the top, screw the bottom, then unscrew the little toy. It took less than 5 mins. It has a slight odor so to cover it up so my cat likes it I put some catnip on it. Before I could put things away, he was already on it and playing with it. Now I'd say this is for smaller pets because while he's probably a little overweight, he's not a very big cat. But apart from that, it will still be a good scratching toy for him.
