Need a redesign. - Window hardware

If the rear window is tilted slightly, it will not work. Tilt does not allow blocking. You need two flat surfaces for both parts. Then you need to align and assemble both parts so that they close and snap into place. Didn't match my window. I would have to make new holes that would be so close to my old holes that it would form one big hole. It could be more versatile if part of the castle was designed differently to allow more freedom of action. You have to be that precise, even if both window

Good product for its price.

This product looks very successful. We replaced a (very) old metal lock on a small window. It seems sturdy enough to get the job done for a small window, but I'll keep an eye on it. The bar was NOT the same dimensions as the previous bar, which is what I thought. So I had to pre-drill some new holes - no problem. To make sure the deadbolt would fit perfectly, I centered the casement lock and installed it on the window with both pieces still latched together. Then they align themselves and open…

One of the two parts is too narrow to be easily attached to the window frame.

The product consists of two parts. The part without a handle (visible in the top right of the picture) is too narrow. Attempting to install this on a wing requires placing screws so close to the edge of the wing that it is almost impossible not to split or loosen the wood. The design is inexpensive, molded under pressure. Insert a replacement latch, but the screws may be smaller than your existing setup.

I purchased this product to replace my existing window latch after painting the interior frame and trimming a new color and didn't want to paint the latch to match the new theme in the rest of the room fits . Although this is a small replacement for my existing latch, there are a few things to note. 1.
