Top Heavy The best safety razors for men

Arrived well packaged. Finish: Nickel-Like Satin. It looks well made. However, the head is too big and the grip is smooth instead of having a texture that is easy to grip. My first impression was that it wasn't very well balanced and shaving this morning with a Derby blade confirmed this - it's very heavy. I was also surprised that the customization settings didn't snap. Instead, it's a continuous transition from 1 to 6, so I was concerned the setting might change with use depending on how I hold the button and press the crown. I set mine to 1 1/2 which is pretty mild. I got a decent shave with it - no nicks or razor burn - but it was awkward to hold in place since it's so heavy. Also, I could hear the blade moving or flexing while I was using it because 3 or 4 times while I was shaving my face I would hear a rattling or clicking sound like the blade would break off for a moment and then return. First I checked that the setting was still at 1 1/2 and it was, then I checked that the top of the head was seated properly and it was. I'm not sure what else could move besides the blade. I couldn't get it to rattle at all, just by shaking. I will try a different brand of blade to see if there is a difference. I don't have the adjustable Murker it was made for so I can't offer a comparison. I'll be using this a few more times to see if I like it better, but right now I don't think it will be my first choice.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some minor issues
