We needed a way to hold our 95 pound golden retriever in place. Because it's so big, I didn't want to buy any dishes. We can attach it to the seat belt and then attach it to the harness and then to the collar. It's not an ultra-secure seat belt, but it keeps it in place and prevents it from wandering around in the car. I also hope that if we had an accident it would help him not turn into a projectile. We have a small dog and use a double clip harness and leash but wanted something lighter for our Golden as he was so large and that helps.
