I was amazed at the improvement in lighting with these GE Reveal LED lights. I used GE Reveal incandescent bulbs (same wattage) and had trouble finding a replacement on the market so I ordered these Reveal LED bulbs. The new lights are brighter and cleaner, using less than 1/10 the electricity. The packaging says the lamp will last for several years which is great as the bathroom uses incandescent bulbs and incandescent bulbs last less than a year with frequent use. Apart from the initial cost, the running costs will be lower. My elderly mother sometimes leaves the bathroom light on all night, so I was concerned about 160 watts (4 x 40 watt bulbs) all night, especially in summer when 160 watts of electricity puts out so much heat. The LED lamp consumes only 3.5 watts of electricity, so significantly less heat is generated. The pears have only been in use for 2 days, so I can't say anything about the shelf life of the pears. I haven't decided yet if I should replace similar lightbulbs in another bathroom, but I'm tempted. Most of the lightbulbs in our home have been replaced by LEDs over the years, so I know the benefits of LED lightbulbs. I still have a few CFLs and a few incandescent bulbs, but I will reconsider switching to LEDs for the good of myself and the environment.
