Review on 🚿 Moen Engage Magnetix 26112SRN: 5.5-Inch Handheld Showerhead with Magnetic Docking System, Spot Resist Brushed Nickel by Joe Mix

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good shower head but could be better

Update: 04/15/20 So I'm changing my rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. Can't bring myself to give 5 stars due to lack of water Pause function, but what the more I use this shower head, the more I like it. And I was able to solve my problem with the lack of a pause function by buying a very cheap flow restrictor that literally just screws into the hose. It has a dial that lets you control the flow of water, which is essentially the same as the pause function but with more control. I wish I didn't have to spend extra money on this, but it was worth it. I really love this shower head and now with the added flow restrictor it's perfect! I wanted to upload photos for this review but am unable to do so with this product. I do not know why. So not being able to attach photos I will do my best to provide more detail on my experience with this shower head and its setup. I've wanted a hand shower in my shower for a long time. So far I've used a fixed 6 inch shower head with rain that had a dial to adjust the jet settings. It worked well to be honest, but I definitely lacked the benefits of a portable device. The portable device not only makes cleaning your shower easier, but also makes it easier to clean yourself. ESPECIALLY my hair which is long and a mix of curly and wavy. I prefer to wash and condition upside down and the manual rinse aid makes rinsing 100% faster and more thorough. Now my husband is 6ft 4" and not at all picky when it comes to shower heads like I am. It was very important to me to find a hand shower that can also be used as a normal rain shower with an extension. I've searched through a TON of hand showers and settled on this one based on the design. This design is exactly what I was looking for. to be compatible with my desired setup. So my setup is basically an 11 inch adjustable shower that attaches to the water line, then my Aquabliss water filter attaches to it, THEN this shower head attaches to the water filter. With the shower holder folded up, my husband can still stand comfortably under this shower head without having to bend down. Now, here I am going to list my likes and dislikes about this showerhead. HOW: - Magnetic mount is very convenient. and strong. A magnet instead of a traditional handle holder makes it a better design for a small shower stall like mine. He holds the flexible hose close to the wall so it doesn't get in my way. Since there isn't much room to stand, it's a blessing. Also important is that my shower can be directed more downward than at an angle, which I was able to achieve with the extension. The bracket is adjustable so you can bend it up, down or side to side. Again very useful when pairing with an extension cord. - The button function to set the beam parameters is much more convenient than the dialing method I was used to before. - The shower head worked. Always positive. It helped clear me up. DON'T LIKE: No tape included. Why? I bought showerheads at half price including hers. I think this is a MUST HAVE for any plumber. And at this price I expect it to come with everything I need to make sure it works perfectly right out of the box. Luckily I had a roll of my latest showerhead to use. - No water pause setting. Very disappointing. Another thing I consider standard for PDAs is missing here. This is a must have for small showers like mine because I don't have room to step to the side to lather up without rinsing it off right away. And turning off the water with a flick of the wrist isn't really an option because we have an instantaneous water heater. Unfortunately only one for a 4 bedroom house meaning hot water goes to my shower forever. I use a lot less water on the pause than turning the valve off and back on when I have to run it for a full 2 minutes before it heats up. Well, there's only two things I don't like, but the lack of a pause setting is a big deal. At least for me. But I'll find a way to adjust because otherwise it's perfect for my needs and I haven't seen anything better to accommodate my size and small shower space.
