First a little background on my knee injury to put my review of this brace in context. In 1965, I severely injured my knee and tore the anterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament, and medial meniscus. In 1979 I had reconstructive surgery. The surgery was very successful and my knee has not "failed" in the 42 years since the surgery. However, extensive damage to the joint has resulted in osteoarthritis and I have a constant dull ache that I have learned to live with; In all activities, I am very careful not to put too much strain on the joint. I recently experienced the side effects of a bone strengthening IV fluid that was causing severe joint pain and severe swelling. When the pain and swelling subsided after rest and treatment with cold and heat, I decided to put on a corset. I chose these braces based on the reviews, design and price. Wearing it significantly relieves pain and gives a sense of security. I wear it over pants when I'm not wearing shorts. I find it easy to put on and comfortable, and I like the flexibility: I only use it occasionally. In my experience, no association can fully compensate for my injuries. All in all, this orthosis suits my situation and I am happy with it.
