Very durable construction. It's all leather through and through, unlike most "real leather" wallets, belts, watch straps, etc., which have just a thin layer of leather sewn onto something synthetic. It's thick because it's real leather, it's tri-folded and has buttons (good quality btw) so keep that in mind. It survived the Dickies Men's Leather Slim Folding Chain Wallet, Black, One Size The Dickies Chain Wallet I bought, the rivet that attaches the chain to, came loose from the 'leather' after a week of standard use.
