I just bought a house with a garage in the basement and the lighting wasn't very good. I bought it after reading the recommendation and installed it this morning. My thoughts: 1) it's smaller than I thought; it's not much more than an old-school spotlight or porch light. I was expecting a bit more and was **really** pleasantly surprised at how much light this lamp puts out. 2) It can be adjusted; my garage light is in an odd spot and I was able to easily install this light because I was able to adjust the position of the parking lights to make it easier to screw them into the socket. Once screwed in I was able to move the side lights to where I wanted. 3) It's *really* bright. It sure isn't dark in my garage anymore! The light is strong and leaves clear shadows on the wall. I might want to think of a way to diffuse the brightness for a softer effect, but it certainly lights up the entire room very effectively. I am very happy. I would recommend this to anyone who has a dark room that needs lighting. I might buy another one for a particularly dirty basement. or it might work well in the attic too!
