As the name suggests, the image does not shake when you move the microscope up/down to adjust the focus. Not if you put it on the table and start working with patterns or circuit boards. The two gooseneck LEDs are perfect for getting light at an angle but when I got mine 1 side wouldn't turn on multiple times. All aluminum construction and non-slip feet are very well put together. The hardcover case is a great added bonus; it's a bit big (the product takes up maybe 20% of the volume, I think when everything is put together it can take up 60% of the space). Cons: The reason I come back is because the microscope I like the most doesn't work. Fits a rigid round holder (max. 1 3/8 inch). The thinner mic I tested that fits doesn't produce a good enough image, so I'm not going to leave it at that. I would have liked an on/off switch. Didn't see it, just had to plug and unplug the device to control the lights. A final annoyance is that the top of the platform is 0.75 inches off the table/floor. So when you are working with a large PCB, it is very difficult to align the board.
