A caveat that makes me return this device

I bought this gimbal to try and record better videos. I have experience in the field of audio and video technology and I know that I want to improve my quality. So the stabilizer was one of the first on the list. I endlessly compared Osmo Mobile 2 to Zhiyun Smooth 4 and wanted to get all the additional features of Smooth 4. But in the end I chose OM2 because the ZS4 app doesn't seem to work at all on the Android platform. OM2 is pretty easy to set up, although the instructions could be a bit clearer. Although it took a long time to charge the first time. According to the instructions, charging takes 2 hours. I left it on for 3 hours and there was no charge (one indicator blinked). I ended up having to charge it overnight for it to even work. But now it works perfectly. After setup, the device works perfectly. The video was very stable, just what I was looking for. But now the next step is to use an external microphone. I'm more of an audio guy making videos. So let's connect the USB microphone. NO. The OM2 app (dji go) won't let me use the USB mic on my Android phone. I've tried a few different USB mics (Yeti Pro and a cheap Lavalier USB) and none of them were recognized by the app. I then tried the TRRS mic that came with the phone to see if I could at least connect an analog mic to the camera. NO. The app also does not allow this microphone. So I'll stick with the built-in mic on the phone itself unless I want to use an external mic and field recorder. I'm having a hard time doing this as I use my phone as a field recorder (with a USB mic I could add). There are many people on the DJI forums asking the same question. When will the app allow external microphones? For now, the only answer is that they will think about it. It goes backwards since it is not about sound. Right now I'm considering the Zhiyun Crane 2 and using my Canon 'big SLR' instead, but it would be nice to have quick and easy portability with a smartphone.
