Reduces buildup and bad taste in water

In my 10 years on the road I have used this brand in inline water filters like this one to get rid of the strainer blocking sediment in to reduce or hopefully eliminate my RV as well as reduce bad taste in many camping waters and when I saw them I decided to give it a try. This filter came with a hose guard with a spring to prevent the hose from twisting when the filter is hanging from it. I've noticed when buying filters it's getting harder and harder to find these hose monitors and they really got cheaper and cheaper until they didn't help much once the filter was full of water. This one has a spring which is a good weight and keeps the hose from kinking to keep the water flowing. It easily attaches to the RV inlet with a plastic handle on the tread. A pair of pliers is not required. I would keep a couple of these hose guards on board rather than throwing them away with the filters when it came time to change them - just in case. The best thing about them is that they prevent sediment from getting into the filter and clogging it. Inlet strainer on the van when camping with hard water or in an area where there was no water for a long time. Run plenty of water through the hose to flush as much sediment and dirt out of the pipe as possible before connecting to a filter or RV. This saves you the headache of locked screens and unplugging your plumbing to clear a clogged filter just when you're ready to hop in the shower! (Don't ask!) Make sure you plug it in with the correct direction of water flow (it's virtually impossible to plug it in the wrong way), but if you manage to plug it in the wrong direction of flow, you will. to get nothing. pressure and it doesn't work. Since you're camping and spilling water, you know they'll work and need changing when the water pressure drops. Fortunately, they are easy to replace. They seem to work just as well as big brands and cost a little less. I recommend.
