This heater core is not an exact replacement for a factory heater core. Problems: 1. Heater core is wider than OEM.2. The ribs at the end of the heater core stick out. The factory must bend these fins around the heater core to match OEM Part 3. Heater hoses not correctly positioned according to OEM4. The heater core is shorter than the OEM resolution: 1. If the core is wider, you need to cut out the body of the truck where the core slides in. Due to the design of the case, cutting off the top of the case leaves two holes for air to flow through. I sealed the holes with tape. (yep.) 2. To accommodate the ribs that weren't folded back to the body, I hit the ribs with a mallet to fold them back to fit the body. I had to bend back the ribs even though I had already cut the slits in the body. The core does not align properly in the case.3. Again I had to bring a cutting tool close to the body to expand the semi-circular top of the body to accommodate the fact that the tubes are closer together.4. This core is about 1 inch shorter than the OEM core, so it allows air to bypass the core in the case and doesn't emit full heat. I've found the heat isn't as intense as it should be, but it's warm enough with this shorter core. I am very good at diagnosing and repairing my vehicles. So I know what I'm doing and saying. For Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra 1999-2005 and possibly other years, you must remove the dash completely to access the heater core (ask your garage they will charge around $1000 for this job. You can feel my surprise imagine a full day of disassembling the truck dashboard found that the parts i ordered did not directly fit/replace, of course i checked compatibility with Revain to make sure this part 'fits' my truck when I ordered and rechecked when the dash was removed from my truck that this core fits, not failing and that I do not need to replace this heating element e again.
