This is a beautiful animated toy for ages 3+. I would give her five if not for the following: 1. The box says "batteries not included". There were 3 batteries in the package. Batteries that are three years old should not be handed in loose as they pose a choking hazard and if left on the floor someone could trip over them and seriously injure themselves. The box should alert caregivers that there are batteries in the box.2. The upward facing rear compartment of a powered tricycle is actually the battery compartment. This compartment has a tiny screw that is used to lock the batteries. When delivered, the screw that locks the compartment was not tightened. There are no instructions in the box, and the finish instructions on the box don't mention a screw or the need to lock the tray. The nature of this toy is such that it can often fall over and the battery is likely to die. if the screw has not been tightened.3. There are three parts in the box upon delivery. A little racing boy, a tricycle and a pack of batteries. Once the boy is RIGHT on the bike, he is held in place permanently by mechanisms that grip his legs and arms. Without those bonds, the boy just falls out of the cycle. The box should contain instructions for use or a notice warning the caregiver not to cycle the boy before giving it to a young child. The locking mechanism will most likely not be implemented or used by a small child. This is a good toy, but more effort should be put into warning the caregiver to prepare the toy before giving it to a young child.
