Review on πŸ’‘ AmazonBasics Daylight Dimmable LED Bulb with Extended Lifespan by Jeremy Jackz

Some of these bulbs are flickering

I installed them in my track lighting system in the kitchen. The lights have rose colored glass shades that are usually beautifully illuminated by a translucent reflector in a GU 5.3 halogen lamp. Firstly, these LED lamps do not have a translucent reflector, so the lampshade is dark and not luminous. This is to be expected from the photo of the bulb. Second, these bulbs are slightly longer than halogen bulbs, so they protrude slightly from the shades. Therefore they don't look as elegant as the halogen bulb in this particular fixture. Also, this bulb is slightly heavier than a halogen bulb, so it can slip out of an old, worn out fixture that relies on friction to hold the bulb on its 2 electrical pins. Third, some of these bulbs have a random flicker when the dimmer is turned on. screwed up to the stop. This is very odd as all 6 bulbs are connected to the same 12vdc dimmer and not all flicker. Turning the dimmer to the 3/4 position eliminates flicker without much impact on brightness. This may be due to older dimmer technology that supplies more than 12V, which can cause the lamp to overheat and dim. Apart from these problems, the lamp's design looks better than many others, they are bright enough, they have a wide and even light. Light distribution, dimmability is quite good, and the "warm white" color is slightly whiter than the original halogen bulbs. Not bad, but not perfect.
