The Electro Heat Mattress Pad outperforms any electric blanket I have used in the last 30 years. When you use an electric blanket, more than half of the heat goes up, away from you, so you get very little heat from the blanket. But you have a mattress topper underneath so the heat doesn't escape. it rises to keep you warm. I think that even the heat that goes down will eventually come back to you, making you warmer. I have found using it on the low setting, L or 1, and it keeps me warm all night. When you turn it on for the first time, it heats up for a few minutes, so you don't have to set anything to preheat the bed. that's a good plus. The only downside, as others have pointed out, is that the controller's light goes out pretty quickly and you can't tell if it's on or off in the dark. It's true that you only have to press one button; When the light is on, it means it's on, and when it's off, it means it's off. Of course, this still doesn't say what state it was in before you pressed the button (well, if you turned it on, it was probably off and vice versa, but you could move one of the buttons up or down). bottom and not the power button so you can't be sure). I get it, but it's confusing and I really don't want to think about it that much when I'm trying to sleep. The company says it's designed to save energy, but they could light it up with an LED and use very little power. You should change this function. Electric heat is available in more sizes than other manufacturers; it was important. Be sure to check the actual dimensions of your mattress and don't limit yourself to the size labels. I found that one company's Twin XL was actually just shorter than the Twin XL, and the Electrowarmth Twin XL was actually longer than my Twin XL mattress. But after checking the size in inches I got a lining that fit perfectly. I also liked that the power connector is right behind the end of the mat, while the other manufacturer had it on top of the mat, in the middle, right where my feet would be. I also like that it's made in the USA. The sides could have been a little deeper to accommodate today's thicker mattresses, but I could barely get the elasticated edges to fit. You can make one with deeper sides by calling the factory and paying a bit more, but they really should make that standard. My mattress is new but not too thick and barely fits. Overall I'm giving 5 stars because it works better than anything I've bought in the past and it's the right size. I've been using it for about two months, so I can't say how long it's been working. If I could, I'd give it four and a half stars for the controller lighting, but I wouldn't want to go below four. I think you will be happy with this purchase.
