The product is durable and can be used as a chair. It's quite heavy, but most people should be able to lift it when it's folded. I could stand on it and felt like it would support my weight. Please do not use as a footstool. It doesn't have enough balance to handle the shift in weight as you stretch. Because now the top foam is as comfortable as a seat cushion. I don't know how it wears out over time. One of my biggest complaints is the smell. Smells pretty bad. The smell that comes closest to me is a car tire. I leave the lid open and hope the smell goes away. The smell is not strong enough to infect the whole room. I'm just lying on the edge of the bed where I put the item and I can smell it from here. Update: I'm wrong. The room doesn't smell. I only noticed it when I left the room and came back later. Good.
