Good idea, but make sure you set the right expectations

It's good that this applies to children from the age of 4, because normally a child has to be at least that age to be able to use it correctly to understand this toothpaste . Even then, good reinforcement may be needed to make sure your child knows this is the only type of toothpaste they should be swallowing. Other non-fluoride toothpastes are generally safe to swallow, but they're actually designed to teach you not to swallow. I made sure my child knows he still shouldn't swallow anything but this one and I only got it for her because he's still having trouble swallowing any other toothpaste. As she worked on not choking, she spat it out the first time she used it a few days ago (which was actually pretty funny). Now she understands the difference between this and other toothpaste and still spits out another toothpaste but swallows this one. As you know, it's mostly a mix of wintergreen, liquorice or aniseed and vanilla, often with small additions for variety and sometimes substitutions - by the way, root beer mostly uses the same mix but in different proportions, which is why some brands like Dad's Root Beer taste a lot like bubble gum). I'm allergic to mint so won't be using it again but thankfully the child is allergy free and she loves the taste. I love the whole concept and I think it fills a need and a certain niche. I highly recommend.
