Bought to be used outside as Christmas decorations on trees. So far they're working well, but there's a catch. The light coil comes with the end of the light filament wound onto the spool first and the last end 72 feet outside the spool. This means if you know where you want to place the solar panel, you can't start by placing it there and then unwinding the string of lights. Instead, you must first unwind the entire string of lights while simultaneously rewinding them onto another makeshift spool. It may take 6-8 minutes after you develop your system. Once this reverse winding step is complete, you can place the solar panel where you want it and start placing your lights. Other than that annoyance, the light works perfectly.
