It's made for emergencies, not everyday use, and as such, it is a good shovel. I like that the handle is long enough you won't brake your back stooping and throwing. You could probably use it for sand, or dirt, but it would be a bit on the light side for that kind of use. I got it for snow, and that's what it's good for. Used this shovel once during winter camping. I am tall and this is a reasonable length for me when assembled, for a portable emergency tool. Used it to free a large gate on a rural road from caked-on snow and ice, pretty deep and solid. Though light, it worked well enough to break through the ice. Worked on it for probably 15 min with intensity. Was almost surprised to see that no damage was sustained by the shovel. Easy to disassemble and keep in the car.

Very well-made! this is a great little shovel to keep in your trunk when you need it it will be there it collapses down and separates to fit in a small bag but takes up very little room so it can always be in your trunk. An absolute must have if you live anywhere there is snow could be a life saver!

It seems weak at first but after putting it up against the last blizzard cleanup gotta give it credit, its still in one piece. Would have given 5 stars if the shovel head were square, like a transfer shovel, instead of pointed. The point tip is useless as it is why to lightweight to dig with. Otherwise, this product, while a bit too high in price, is as presented and after weeks of daily use it holds up well and we are happy with it. Very, very light which is what we were after.

What a great little shovel. How many times was I stuck in a mall shopping center after a storm wishing I had a shovel. Now I do. Great sturdy metal shovel head and the handle slips together in a matter of seconds. Cold hands and numb fingers shouldn't be an issue. I got one for myself and decided it would be a great gift for my daughter as well. It also comes apart and is placed in a small bag with a retractable cord. Probably takes up about 1 1/2 sq feet. super helpful to keep in the trunk of your car during the winter, and doesnt take up too much space. much better than keeping a full size shovel which is impossible to maneuver around if I need to actually use my trunk!

One part arrived bent . light weight but not perfectly sturdy, short in length overall my back hurts when I use it. But can be compact and portable.

It's good, only thing I found is the coating is too smooth, almost teflon like. Snow just slides off it if not perfectly balanced.

I bought two for a snow camping trip with my boy scout troop. One worked fine and the other came back broken. The metal holding the shovel portion on broke so there wasn't a thing I could do to salvage it.

Seems well built and durable for a small shovel at this price point. I'm impressed with the construction and the capability of varying the handle length. Bearing in mind that it's a travel/emergency shovel, and not a heavy duty work shovel, I think it's a great value.

What is there to say? Need a shovel in the trunk for those snowstorm days where your car gets plowed under on the street of a city? Need a just in case snow shovel.
