Although all LCDs are basically the same, this model comes with an I2C backpack, making it very easy to use is. Rather than requiring 4 serial lines (pins) plus power and a contrast potentiometer, the backpack offers communication over a 2-wire I2C connection and has a built-in contrast potentiometer.
