Review on πŸͺ‘ Enhanced Comfort and Style: X Chair X2 Executive Task Chair in Black K-Sport Mesh by Julie Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable, professional looking chair with lots of adjustment options. Holds up well over time.

I've seen a lot of chairs over my years. One thing I do know is that it's not just about how the chair feels the day you take it out of the box, it's also about how it feels over time. So I've deferred reviewing this X-Chair until I've had time to actually use it, break it in and see how it performs over time. I'm happy to say it's holding up great. After a year of use, it feels like it's been the day it just came out of the box. All settings work as they should. The rollers are still smooth. The seat is still firm and supportive, as is the back. The precision of the assembled parts, like the legs to the base of the chair, is maintained and the connection is still tight: no wobble, no jerking. So now I can say with some confidence that this chair will last due to long term use. I can't say that about almost any other consumer chair I've ever bought. These include the even more expensive Herman Miller Aeron chair found in many high-end offices. I never had an Aeron, but was assigned an Aeron at work. So I (or rather my ass) have quite a bit of experience with both. This X chair is 100% competitive. It's great to have all the adjustments for things like height, lumbar support and backrest position. To be honest since I use this chair all the time I set and forgot about those things (played with it for the first day or two, found something I liked, never touched again). But having these adjustments is great and definitely the main difference between this chair and the one you buy on sale at your favorite $100 stationery store. (Other differences include the exact tolerances for the parts and how they fit together, as well as the high-quality mesh seat and back, which look the same today as they did when I took it out of the box.) When you receive the chair, it will it is shipped unassembled. heavy box. Much heavier than the cheap chairs mentioned above, another expression of quality construction. It's pretty easy to assemble. Everything you need, including an Allen key, is included. You only have to screw in a few screws for assembly (see photo). Took me about 20 minutes to assemble including reading the instructions and unpacking things. Anyone can do it. All in all, this is an amazing chair. Although it's a bit pricey, it's also a much better chair than the cheap stuff. In my experience it will last a very long time and is probably an example of paying more upfront but getting something that will last a lot longer and work properly than the cheap versions.
