I was pleasantly surprised at how well it protects my 5 month old daughter's face during our hikes! Your face is covered all the time. It doesn't bother her at all so it has to be a good material as some material irritates her easily. I like the adjustable chin strap as well as the back for the head. She also can't accidentally tighten the chin strap and choke because the lever for that is nice and solid, which is why I like it best. The chin strap is also removable (see picture). Great purchase! If you're thinking of getting this, just do it, you won't be disappointed.
