Review on Everest BP400LT Standard by Tina Moore

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent performance, definitely not durable.

updates March 1, 2021 after some use. Update at the bottom of this review. Downgraded from 4 to 2 stars due to durability issues. I ordered this as I travel for work frequently and backpack travel/work duties are BRUTAL. Always look for the right brand. This product description is fine - time and a few rides will decide if this review loses extra stars, so updates are coming. The good: The material seems to be quite durable compared to other packs in this price range. The Everest logo and branding is good (silly to comment, but some of these brands have become almost embarrassing lately, like WeeBackIngPackYCG and the like. I made up the name, but you probably get what I mean). A nice touch with a matching little pouch for cords and such. Padded computer pocket, top-loading access, a couple of extra pockets with key clip (so travelers can attach their keys after airport parking) and pen holder, zippered mesh pocket and typical pockets . Mesh bottle pockets on both sides fit large water bottles and coffee mugs. Cons: Not enough disk space. Computer, accessories, book or similar, additional t-shirt because there is not enough space to change. Better for a day on campus than a commuter or travel bag. Ugly: Some seams look suspicious. For example, where I would expect double stitching at common fault points (strap, top handle, etc.) there are single stitching. The padding on the shoulder straps is also a bit thin. Update: Sure enough, the issues described in Ugly have become a major issue. The fabric and stitching on the top handle are damaged and the handle-to-backpack connection is broken on both sides. It goes from simple everyday use to and from work - even before you travel seriously! I would not recommend this package for serious adventure or business travelers. Even driving back and forth to work, waking up maybe 400 meters a day with a backpack seems like too much work.
