Unfortunately, this product is cheaply made. The lid doesn't close completely so the boiling water runs out the sides of the lid and not just out the spout, which is extremely dangerous! There's no visual or audible alarm that the water is boiling, so all you have to do is stand and wait (our previous kettle turned blue and had an auto shut-off). The cable is too short to be very functional. The plastic is cheap, and the little piece connecting the lid to the rest broke off when I closed it once, about two weeks into owning it. If I was sure I could return it after it broke I would. Since I can't, I want to make sure other people don't waste their $20. I'm very disappointed in the brand, tbh.
