I had a similar one that I lost many years ago. This is a big improvement. Strong magnet, lightweight and telescopic. Although I'm not sure why I need it for the telescope. When I'm playing I definitely tend towards a closed formation, it helps me to see if I'm closed, open or square in a formation. I was at the shooting range the other day and another golfer showed me how to use it to see face up position, P2 etc. Simple, light and serves its purpose.
